Fantastic Spanish food-- some of the best Spanish food I've had in a while! - bone marrow: 100/10 (sooo good! Perfectly rich and creamy and it pairs really well with the toasted baguette.) - skirt steak: 100/10 (love, love, loved the sauce! It was a spicy tomato sauce that paired perfectly with the steak. The steak was cooked well too!) - scallops: 10/10 (great scallops-- they are cooked well in a light sauce.) - mussels: 9/10 (decent mussels with a pretty big portion size.) Service was good and the vibes were great. We sat in the outdoor patio when it was pouring so that wasn't the most ideal, but it still made up for a whole vibe.

*3.5/5 Wah so happy to have visited! I've been on the hunt for good Spanish food (and have been continually let down) ever since I came back from el camino last year. Although this cost a pretty penny and I didn't love half the dishes we ordered, it was still a nice experience and the dishes I did like were beyond immaculate. Cozy restaurant w an even cozier bathroom lol, but it gets the job done. Service is fabulous and detail-oriented, and a sommelier wanders around offering suggestions. I got a tinto de verano for nostalgia's sake and it was exactly what I expected. Split 5 dishes amongst 2 people and left so full. These "tapas" are way bigger than most, and 4 dishes would prob have been sufficient. That being said, our selections were all quite heavy/rich/sweet, so we could have done better in diversifying. Creamy eggs - My first time trying uni! You could say I'm still acquiring the taste. Wouldn't expect a scrambled egg on a Michelin menu but to be fair the eggs are smooth as silk. I kept thinking abt the flavors of this days after the meal -- so novel to me, but not in a bad way. Lowkey would order this again. My co-diner was not very impressed tho. Arroz negro - Black rice with the tangiest green sauce and piping hot white fish. Second fave of the night. Packed full of flavor, an absolute re-order. Foie gras - My first time trying foie gras as well! Sat on a crisped bread, onions, and a sweet red sauce. The foie gras was rich and butter-like, completely dissolving upon bite. It did feel like my arteries were clogging up mid-meal tho. That being said, if you're eating at Casa Mono just once, def get this. Was my favorite. Crispy pig ears -- This came out at the same time as the foie gras and it was just too much rich sweetness at once. Probably would have been fine on its own but was just overwhelming in the lineup. I picked out the peaches, basil, and onions in this and ate those instead. Was under the false assumption that this would be a dry and salty dish (not wet and sweet). Bone marrow -- I love bone marrow but after all of the above, Casa Mono's take w horseradish cream and fish roe was just too much. I don't think my palate is built for all this! I like lightness and simplicity. Co-diner loved this one though, so to each their own. All that being said, I would come again but would just order different things.

Absolutely delicious!! I couldn't stop raving about this place after I dined here. From the wine, to the bone marrow, to the duck and goat confit. Literal chefs kiss. Wine: treixadura 9/10 Bone marrow: 10/10 I'd come here just for this! It was heaven Goat confit: 8/10 Duck: 9/10 was cooked to perfection Creamy Eggs and uni: 4/10 I'm sorry but I could not get behind this Crispy pork: 9.5/10 perfectly crispy Arroz negro: 8.5/10 What was also great about this place was the service. G the he waters were super attentive and were very fast with our orders. Ambiance: very cozy and small inside. Definitely need a reservation.

Likely more of a 4.5 but had a very good meal here in NYC. The skirt steak was the best item we tried. It was incredibly tender and flavorful. I also really enjoyed the black rice dish (arroz negro). The razor clams were a bit chewy but had a delicious, buttery flavor. The duck egg with potatoes were okay, but the potatoes seemed quite undercooked which is a mistake that shouldn't happen at any restaurant. They're potatoes, after all... The bone marrow was incredibly interesting-- and I really enjoyed this dish. That said, it's like eating fois gras -- it's very decadent and rich, so you might be satisfied with just one piece. I'd recommend tables of 4+ order this, but for a table smaller it's a lot of bone marrow. Service was attentive and we LOVED our sommelier -- she was so kind and knowledgeable and picked a great wine for us. I'd recommend this place and would specifically suggest you try the steak, black rice, and I've also heard great things about the mussels.

4.5 stars Small indoor area, but lots of outdoor seating Service was great, and our waiter was attentive All dishes we ate were unique and flavorful, but there were a few that are must eats - confit goat -everything about this dish was perfectly done in seasoned - scallops: perfectly cooked with a beautiful done delicate sauce - arroz negro - Crudo Good but not must gets - razor clams: butter + garlic is delicious but it was overkill and the other dishes had better balance - duck breast Definitely going back to try the other dishes!

Casa Mono has become my go-to spot for meeting up with friends, whether it's for a summer outdoor night or a cozy weekend luncheon. The atmosphere inside is incredibly inviting, and the personal and attentive service makes every visit special. The menu is full of delicious options, but a few dishes stand out as all-time favorites. The refreshing fluke crudo and the decadent bone marrow are absolute must-tries. The pan con tomato is simple yet incredibly delicious. A recent favorite is the arroz negro. It's perfectly spicy with pickled peppers, savory with a creamy sauce, and topped with a delightful piece of fish. The wine list at Casa Mono is impressive, and for those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks, the phony Negroni is a great choice. This is a true neighborhood gem! Reservation or walk ins are usually easy too which takes a lot of the anxiety off for a last min dinner decision. Highly Recommended!

Our close friend treated us to a tapas extravaganza on a Saturday at 7 o'clock. We arrived and were seated in a very comfortable nook separate from the main dining area. Our sommelier shared with us the reason for the lack of cocktail options. Allegedly, they cannot serve liquor due to its proximity to a school. We enjoyed her Rose recommendations. My friend's carnivorous appetite guided our choices with some good vegetarian options dispersed throughout. The burratas spring pea pistachio sauce was very unique. The scallops did not shine in the overwhelming curry sauce. I would've liked to try the razor clams. The pork belly, skirt steak, goat and duck breast were good. Of the three, I thought the duck was the best. We finished it off with 2 desserts. The creme brûlée was as expected but was interestingly topped with fried bay leaves that we were warned against eating.

Wonderful dinner experience our first night in NYC. It's located on a corner with other restaurants at respective corners. We sat outside in the twinkle lights surrounded by brick and brownstone buildings. It was all so cute and quintessential New York. Highly recommend the outdoor seating option if weather is good! As for food, it is pricey especially for tapas sized portions, but it's also Michelin-star rated, which is also why expectations were a bit higher. We ordered salad, razor clams, scallops, and skirt steak along with some wine recommended by their sommelier. The highlights were for sure the skirt steak and salad! The razor clams were good but a bit too chewy. The scallops were a bit dry and felt off because of the Thai curry-like taste of it. It didn't seem to fit the Spanish theme of the restaurant. Overall we really enjoyed our meal here!
